We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Department of Magic! The experience was so fun. We especially loved making our own non-alcoholic drinks, such a unique and engaging part of the visit. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Huge shoutout to Bex, River, Esther, and Kate for going above and beyond, truly made our visit extra special!

This was such an amazing find. Edinburgh’s hidden gem! For a small price, you get a themed shot and diy cocktail with instructions. There were some boardgames to play as well. But we mostly sat, talked, and enjoyed the stunning vibes. We ordered some butter beer (with selectable shots) as well. My partner had to get another one because it was just that good! Wouldn’t miss it if I’m ever back in Edinburgh.

This was so much fun! Of course I’m a Harry Potter fan, but even if I wasn’t I think this is an experience anyone would love. I love how they give options for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. The nonalcoholic options are still just as clever and you don’t feel like you’re missing out. The potions that we made were flavorful and not overpowering. Our waiter, I believe her name was Bex(?) was so awesome. She was kind, and extremely helpful. She answered all questions and even gave us recommendations for restaurants when we asked.

So much fun and incredibly magical! Our waitress Elena elevated the experience. She was in character, kind, and put in the effort to make sure we had the best time. Definitely recommending the Department of Magic to my friends/family, and anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Great hidden place! Found this after someone made a video on TikTok and saying there was non alcoholic versions. Me and my partner went together and it was fully booked for all there slots online so book in advance like we did. I had the alcoholic cocktail and he went for non alcoholic. The experience alone for just the price of the alcohol was amazing. I then got a valentines special cocktail from them as I felt the experience was so good but also really cheap. Staff were extremely welcoming friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back!

A great time was had by all! And it was definitely magical for everyone in our party. We did the Potions experience, followed by the Prophecies Escape Room. They were very accommodating to our party of 7 (*due to one of us needing a carer) and made everyone feel welcome. From making the booking, to getting us seated and started, everything was quite simple to navigate. Ages ranged from 10 years old to 45 years young and no one was disappointed by the experience. Both experiences were affordable for the location/venue and what we were doing - our spend per person was higher due to ordering extra drinks and snacks. My only suggestion would be maybe a pre-attendance-upgrade style email that would let us know about things like the afternoon tea, or menu since they are pre-order only. We saw a setup and wanted to order one, but unfortunately, that was only for other pre-bookings.

My favourite place kn edinburgh! What an experience! Went there two times. First round just walked past it and were lucky to get a table. It was so much fun, choosing the cocktail to make and then actually reading those funny instructions and getting to taste your lovely potion! It was so much fun that we wanted to go again but this time made an reservation! Ronak, Mairi, Dana & Sophie were so lovely! I will absolutely visit again when back in Edinburgh! Thank you so much for this cool experience!

A fun little adventure for the witches and wizards in you. Our group enjoyed it thoroughly. We got the adult potions/drinks. You have to get in character and fully immerse yourself in the experience. It's a fun family activity too I would bet. There are non-alcoholic versions so everyone can enjoy it. Book online. They tend to sell out.
